Back in the summer as I was out junking I came across three sets of Angel wings. One of them had feathers.I knew just when I would use these and I put them away.As I was thinking of what I wanted to do for Christmas I pulled these out. I glued a pair of these together. I thought I would hang these with a silk ribbon from my vintage easel I found at a barn sale back in the summer. Keeping it simple this Christmas season and adding some feathered art! This is displayed on my landing.I wanted to thank Kerryanne from Shabbylicious Patti @ Ivy and Elephants Miriam illions from Hometalk and Aimee from Twigg Studios for featuring my blog ! Rosemary,Ironstone and a Christmas mantle
Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Can't believe how fast the time is flying! Today I wanted to share my mantle. As with the rest of my Christmas decor I am keeping it simple. I added a bit of silver and pine cones.I kept my ironstone pitcher from my fall mantle and added another for my fresh Christmas greens. I am really enjoying my simpler look this year!My inspiration comes from this beautiful magazine! Love the simplicity! I am anxiously awaiting the December issue! I am always inspired after reading this beautiful magazine! (Photo Source Maynardgreenhouse.com)As I was reading this issue I noticed a rosemary tree.I have never seen one but was determined to find one for my home this year.I love the scent of rosemary too! Kitchen Christmas Tree in a Trunk
I know I have mentioned this allot lately but I will repeat this again. My home is much different now than it was a year ago.I feel like I have more freedom to change and decorate as I want. With so much white in my house now I have many options. As I was sifting through my Christmas decorations I decided I did not want to use much of it.Some I have kept and just changed it a bit and other things are being sold and donated.I wanted a much simpler look to my home.As much as I love a decked out house for the holidays I did not want that for my house.Every year I can't wait to put things up and then I feel anxious about putting it all away.I think for me having all of that in my home is too much of an overload. This year I wanted to use fresh greens and pine cones in my home.We don't have real ... Vintage Made in a Shade
I decided I needed to change my lamp shades in my family room.I did not like what I had and I thought I would make my own.I did that using some burlap. But after I made them I was not happy with how they turned out.I lived with them for a bit until I could figure out what to do.We are on a budget around here so I did not want to spend much to make something new. I kept hearing about Creatively made home and how people were inspired by this course.I was not planning on taking it but I was convinced I would learn so much about home decor and so much more that I decided to join. And I am so glad I did! After watching one of the videos on how to make a lamp shade I was inspired to make my own!I used vintage lamp shade frames for these. And they were free!I found muslin at Hobby lobby.I think it ... Sweet 13
Wow where have the years gone? Thirteen years ago today changed our lives forever.I never thought I wanted children of my own.I never thought I could be a Mom.But one day I decided I was ready. And on November 17 1999 my sweet daughter was born. And on the same day 10 years earlier her Grandmother passed. We are truly blessed in so many ways.So thankful for her.She is so special. I know everyone says that about there own child. But mine is truly a one of a kind.Never in a million years would I thought I would be lucky enough to have such an amazing girl! She is kind, thoughtful, beautiful on the inside and out and smart. She loves to read and loves animals especially her cat Tabby. When she was a baby she would sleep right through the night after about a month. She was never whiny nor did she cry ... Pure White French Provincial
This French provincial dresser was not a piece I had previously in my home.I found it at the thrift store for 3.00.Yep that was the price! But as the guy was helping me out with it to my car he dropped it! Not a surprise I sort of have that kind of luck! Because of this I was given a refund so it was free!! I did not ask for the refund he felt bad and insisted! I fixed the chipped piece and you cannot even tell it was broken. This was painted black and had no hardware. But luck would have it...yes finally a little good luck.........! I would find the perfect drawer pulls at a yard sale for a total of 1.20. And yes that is for all for all of them! I painted this Anne Sloan pure white with a dash of old white.Love the creamy look! The ironstone bowl and pitcher was also found at a ... View Post
