HOW TO STENCIL A DECK

April 26, 2019

Stencil Painted Deck Floor Cutting Edge Stencils Stencil painted deck floor is a beautiful, and easy way to add style to an outdoor space. After looking at inspiration on Pinterest I decided to add a stencil to my wood deck floor in our screened in porch. Painting a deck and using Cutting Edge Stencils is a great way to customize your floor. (This is a sponsored post and contains affliate links, please read disclosure policy) Let's go back to a year a year ago, when I shared my screened in porch. When I revealed my room I also shared that I was unable to paint our deck floor, I was told the wood needed many months to dry out before painting them, and that turned into a year. If I didn't wait until the wood dried out, the paint wood have peeled off, so I waited and I waited. The ... View Post

HOW TO MOVE OUT OF STATE

April 13, 2019

HOW TO MOVE OUT OF STATE Recently I shared this post on Why We Moved To Florida. Since writing that post I've received numerous questions on how to move out of state and what the process was. Today I'm going to break down each stage of how we moved out of state starting from the beginning. This is going to a long post. But I want to give you as much information as I can. I'm not an expert but I'm sharing our experience. Research Before you can start planning your move sit down with a piece of paper and pen and write down all of the reasons you're thinking of moving to another state. Then write down why you love where you live. If you have more reasons to leave then your ready for your move. Look for locations (states) and areas (towns) that you would like to move too. WHY WE MOVED TO FLORIDA

March 21, 2019

WHY WE MOVED TO FLORIDA I don't even know where to being writing this post. But it's been a long time coming. For many years I've dreamed about living in Florida. You're probably wondering why Florida? Many years ago my husband and I took a trip to visit his sister in Florida and I was hooked! It felt like home to me I don't know why. It would be many years later that I'd convince my husband that we needed to make this move. My reasons for wanting to move to Florida. #1 Winter I was sick and tired of feeling sick and tired. The long cold, grey endless winters got to me. I was dealing with SAD (seasonal affective disorder). Sometimes we would have a month of no sun. It really affected my mood and well being. Getting around in the winter was no picnic either. Driving in ... View Post

How To Hem Curtains Without Sewing

February 23, 2019

My daughter's room is really starting to come along. In case you missed it, I'm transforming my daughter's bedroom, by giving it an update. It started out with an idea, and then I found window valences that were a beautiful turquoise. The color of the valances gave me the inspiration for my design of the room. I found a set of six panels for 4.99 at the thrift store, but once I hung them up on my wall I noticed that they were way too long. Both windows in her room are totally different sizes. One is large and wide, the other is small. To balance the windows I first needed to re-hang the rods so they were even, making the windows look like the same height. Then, it was time to hem these. But, I don't have a sewing machine. I know, I need to get one already! I knew that I had ... View Post

Screened Porch Reveal

February 13, 2019

Well, I feel like I have been talking about my screened porch reveal forever, but today is the day I finally share my finished screened porch. Let's take another look back at what the porch looked like a year ago. Last year I was unable to paint the floors, so for my daughters eighth grade graduation party last year, I resorted to this outdoor rug I found. But I was beyond thrilled when I could finally paint the floors. Yeah, I totally love my floors. This was a lot of work, but so worth it for sure! Next, I added my furniture pieces to the room, and that pop of color started showing up in my room. But my room was not complete. I needed something to keep the sun out of our eyes at certain times of the day, and also, I needed a little privacy at times too. We are not ... View Post

ABOUT THIS BLOG

ABOUT THIS BLOG

Hi I'm Anne.
I started this blog many years ago to share my passion for home decor. My tastes have changed and so did I.
We recently moved to Florida and we are starting a new chapter. My main focus on this blog has shifted. With that I'll be sharing more than home decor.
You'll see makeup tips, skincare, fashion and a little bit of decor as well. You can check out my Youtube channel as well and follow me along. I'll leave all of my older posts up as a reference. But you'll see lots of changes.
