DIY Repurposed Jewelry Holder

March 18, 2018

Years ago I came across this piece, I believe it's called a justice scale. All of the hanging crystals and crystal scales have been taken off. I knew that someday I would repurpose this piece, and recently the idea to repurpose this into a jewelry holder came to mind. Sorry it's a bit blurry, my camera was acting up and I did not realize how blurry this photo was until after I completed this project. You can see behind this scale I have a vintage chippy salvage piece. I decided to turn this justice scale into a jewelry holder. First thing that I needed to do was cut the ends off of this chippy salvage piece, because it was a bit too long. Here's my fancy saw, yeah....I don't have an electric saw, I know I can't believe I am still using this, but hey it works! So I cut ... View Post

Springtime Table and Nature

March 12, 2018

Simple Spring Decorating Ideas Decorating for seasons doesn't have to be complicated. I think it's always best to keep things simple. My decor is pretty neutral with some splashes of color. Adding elements from nature is always a must! So I thought I would share my spring table in our kitchen. Just an old farmhouse tote. I found that little watering can on a recently while out shopping. And of course I love adding fresh flowers.A bunch found at the market. I cannot wait to pick flowers out of my own garden. But today it is snowing.....AGAIN! This is a real bird nest. And those are real eggs. Someone was throwing this bird nest out. I rescued it gave it a couple coats of clear varnish to keep it from falling apart. Those eggs were found at a ... View Post

Changes In The Dining Room

March 6, 2018

I changed things around in my dining room  for my latest find. And I added a sweet vintage veil I found yesterday to my vintage dress form. Actually I found a vintage wedding dress  and a veil. I have no idea what I will do with a vintage wedding dress but it's so pretty and the price was right. The veil is tattered and torn  and has darkened with age. It has that tea stained look that we all like to achieve but it happened naturally due to it's age. Love the beautiful flowers on this veil too. So dainty and delicate. The white flowers on the veil are not fabric flowers but some sort of soft plastic. I am drying those roses, they are pinned on with a vintage pearl pin. I found that candelabra a few months ago, love this sweet corner vignette. Sort of has a Jeanne d' Arc ... View Post

How To Choose Warm Or Cool Paint

March 2, 2018

How to choose warm or cool paint colors for a room? That's a question that I get asked most often and can be quite a challenge depending on your room and the flow of your home. When deciding on how to choose warm or cool paint colors, first think about your style of your furniture, and the colors on your furniture. If you have warmer colors on your furniture than you will want to paint your walls a warmer color and add accent pieces with warmer tones. Keep this in mind if your wood floors or furniture has warmer tones. On the other hand if your like me, and you like to change things up you will want to paint your walls white. But the color white will depend on your floors and furniture. Do you have warm rich wood pieces and floors? If you do than you can paint your walls a ... View Post

Angela Caglia Anti-Aging Skincare

August 23, 2017

Many people remark about my skin and I'm often told how youthful I look for my age. Part of the reason why I think I look youthful is I have very good family genes. On my Father's side my family has always aged well. I also think the reason that I look youthful is that I've always taken good care of my skin. Even in my earlier years I used what I thought was good skincare. As I've reached the mature age of almost 51 years old I started stepping up my skincare. Even though a product says it's anti-aging that doesn't mean that it is. I look for real ingredients that are proven to help skin at any age. I was contacted by Angela Caglia and they asked if I was interested in trying out the skincare line. I'm always looking for new skincare to add to my regimen. This is not a sponsored post. I ... ABOUT THIS BLOG

ABOUT THIS BLOG

Hi I'm Anne.
I started this blog many years ago to share my passion for home decor. My tastes have changed and so did I.
We recently moved to Florida and we are starting a new chapter. My main focus on this blog has shifted. With that I'll be sharing more than home decor.
You'll see makeup tips, skincare, fashion and a little bit of decor as well. You can check out my Youtube channel as well and follow me along. I'll leave all of my older posts up as a reference. But you'll see lots of changes.
