How To Paint Fabric Furniture

April 9, 2017

How To Paint Fabric Furniture Many years ago as I was watching one of my favorite tv shows Trading Spaces. I watched in horror as Hildi shared how to paint fabric. This was a large sofa that she decided to paint. I thought to myself why would anyone in there right mind paint a sofa? I imagined it cracking as they sat on it. I can't remember what kind of paint that she used. But I do remember that she let it sit outside to dry and it rained... and that was the end of that sofa. Then I started blogging many years after that show and I discovered chalk paint. I decided to paint a chair of mine and I was so impressed on how my chair looked and felt. I wanted to share tips on how to paint fabric so you don't make any mistakes. Find The Right Piece Not all fabric should be painted on. ... View Post

Kitchen Process New Counters Looking Back

April 3, 2017

Kitchen Process New Counters Looking Back My kitchen process has been a work in progress over the past five years. Today I thought I'd share some behind the scenes photos of my Wilsonart counter installation along with photos of what my kitchen looked like in the beginning. You're not going to believe how different my kitchen looks today compared to five years ago. It seriously doesn't look the same at all! (Contains links to a sponsored post. Please see disclosure policy) Stage One Before the Wilsonart installers arrived I cleared off all of my counters and I also emptied out all the lower cabinets including under my sink. I knew that they would need to have access and I didn't want anything to get in the way of doing their job. I also removed my drawers. Warning these are not ... View Post

Choosing The Right Laminate Counters

April 2, 2017

Choosing The Right Laminate Counters About five years ago I decided to paint my kitchen cabinets. They were a dark cherry stain and I decided they needed to be white. After paining them I noticed that the counters didn't quite match. But being on a budget I just lived with them. Funny enough my kitchen has been photographed for many magazines so I wasn't worried that I needed to do something right away. Recently I added my stone backsplash and my counters looked even more out of place so I knew it was time. As I researched I came across Wilsonart laminate counters. I was attracted by the selection. Now the question was how do I decide what type of counters to choose laminate counters or quartz? (This is a sponsored post but all opinions expressed are that of my own. You can read more in ... We recently moved to Florida and we are starting a new chapter. My main focus on this blog has shifted. With that I'll be sharing more than home decor.
You'll see makeup tips, skincare, fashion and a little bit of decor as well. You can check out my Youtube channel as well and follow me along. I'll leave all of my older posts up as a reference. But you'll see lots of changes.
