Today is small business Saturday, and today the shop reopens! I was hoping to reopen it sooner, but I was having some issues with my host, and it's still not resolved. As I mentioned above today is small business Saturday, I hope that you will join me in supporting small businesses. Either on-line or in your own neighborhood. Small businesses like shops, restaurants all need our support. Without it they would all disappear. I will be doing my part as I always do in supporting my local businesses. Here are a few of my favorite on line shops, I hope you will visit. Jimmy Pickles Bel Monili Come back tomorrow, I'll be sharing a fun and easy DIY craft just in time for the holidays! ... View Post

How To Create Mixed Media Art
I am not mixed media expert, in fact this is my first mixed media project. But I thought it would be fun to try, and this would make a wonderful gift for someone. This project is super easy! Supplies needed: Wood plank- Hobby Lobby Heirloom Traditions Aurora Staining Gel- Pearl Jam, Cherry Bomb, Lucky Charms, Goldilocks Tacky Glue Scrapbook paper Stamps or stencil Clear varnish spray I purchased a wood board from Hobby Lobby, I used my 40% off coupon and I think it was $8.00. First apply your Aurora stain to your plank. I just added mine to the board in a zigzag motion. After applying the gels to my plank board, using a paint brush in a sweeping motion, I work the gel into my board. I didn't over work the gels. I wanted to blend the colors, but not ... View Post
Decorating And Repurposing A Fresh Wreath
I love keeping things simple even during the holiday season. As I start decorating, yeah I put my tree up a few weeks ago, but I am not quite finished yet. Anyway, as I start decorating, keeping things simple is really important to me. And with most of my decor, I love the idea of pieces that can be used for more than just one thing. Like the centerpiece I shared yesterday for my table, you can see that HERE. That centerpiece can also be used for a coffee table too! So what about a wreath? Wreaths don't necessarily need to be used for hanging. This beautiful wreath is from Lynch Creek Farm. I am thrilled to be teaming up with them once again! Now this wreath really is lovely just as it is. Just add a ribbon and your done. But what about dressing it up a little? I decided ... View Post
A Simple Tablescape For The Holidays
Today I wanted to share a very simple tablescape idea. I no longer have my dining room table, I converted my dining room into my studio office. You can read about that HERE. So the only table I have for sharing a tablescape is my kitchen. This may be the last time I share a tablescape on this kitchen, because I may be getting a fabulous vintage shabby table, fingers crossed! When you're thinking about decorating a tablescape think about simplicity. I don't like going overboard with too many pieces on my table. Because the reality is that when you are actually sitting at the table with the food all placed, you need room to move around. You also don't want a tall centerpiece blocking your view from your guests. This centerpiece from Lynch Creek Farms is the perfect height and ... View Post
