I bet you are all wondering where in the world I have been. Well, I have been up to my neck in trying to organize and set up my new email program. I was with another company, who shall remain nameless. But this company messed up my billing not once, not twice but three times. And for me three times, your out! So this blog post is only a test. If you are a subscriber if you could please leave a little comment, like I'm here just so I know that you are all receiving this. I am working on a fun project, I'll be sharing tomorrow. ... Oh No You Didn’t Decorating Faux Pas
I am so glad you are here. Truly I am. Feeling blessed that you love vintage style as much as I do. If you didn't you probably wouldn't be here. Now, I know that vintage style isn't for everyone. Gasp! It's hard to imagine why someone wouldn't love chippy patina! Or shades of shabby pink and green. I have always, always, gravitated towards imperfect pieces. At one time my style slightly changed because someone mentioned that my style was too feminine. And no, it wasn't my husband. So, my style went in a different direction. And it wasn't me. But rather was what someone else said my style should be. But, it wasn't me. I see many design trends, and I cringe. Really I do. I think if I had to live in a house like that, I would be so unhappy. And I would HATE it! Because, ... View Post
Transforming A Room With Little Or No Money
I've been slowly purging things in my home. And you would think that would be an easy task, but it's not. I started out selling some of my personal collection at my last spring sale. Since then, I already have a huge selection ready for next sale next spring. I took several pieces out of my living room and sold them at the sale, which lead me to changing a few things. Using only what I had, with the exception of my new curtains, which I found at the thrift store for 15.00 for all three pairs. I took that metal dormer piece down that was above our sofa, and added it to our den. I decided to keep what I had above the sofa, since I am using what I already have. But I just tweaked it. Here is a shot of my room last year. The burlap chair has been sold, and the two other chairs are ... View Post
Repurpose Thrift Store Finds
This past weekend I shared that I attended a vintage barn sale with my daughter. And that I ran into a few of my friends. One of those friends was Kris from Junk Chic Cottage. After running into her, she sent me text with a few photos asking if I was interested in a few pieces. If it's chippy and old...well of course ;-) After talking for a bit she handed me this pretty pink metal box with hand painted roses. She no longer wanted it and thought I could use it for my spring sale. Because it's a cash box. Probably the prettiest cash box I have ever seen! Since I don't need a cash box right now, I thought it would be fun to use this for my makeup. I added a little vintage wallpaper to the inside of this box. Then I added my makeup inside. I don't have as much makeup as I ... View Post
Accent A Piece Of Furniture With Paint
I'm still working on my entertainment center, so I can't share that reveal just yet. Yes, it's been quite a project. Over the summer, I was searching for pieces of furniture to add to the spring sale, yeah, I know we're in fall now. But time goes by fast, and I have had a hard time finding pieces. I was trying to think of why I am not finding pieces...and here are my thoughts. 1) People are not donating cool vintage pieces. 2) The thrift store employees are taking them. 3) I am arriving on the wrong days. Because it's been slim pickens for me for sometime now. Recently at a garage sale, I stumbled unto this sweet piece. Actually it didn't look like this. I didn't take a before photo, I know, I'm sorry. I guess I should have. But, close your eyes and imagine this ... View Post

No Sew Pumpkin Craft Project I love crafts that are easy, and crafts that are really cheap to make. If you don't sew you're going to love this simple craft! I was contacted by Flora Craft.
