No Sew Pumpkin Craft Project I love crafts that are easy, and crafts that are really cheap to make. If you don't sew you're going to love this simple craft! I was contacted by Flora Craft. They asked if I wanted to create a craft using foam balls and trim. I love a challenge, so I was totally on board! (This is a sponsored post and contains affiliate links, please read my disclosure policy). Supplies Needed: Floracraft - Make it fun - foam balls Design it- Simple Style- Decorative mesh Scrap fabric Twine Quilt batting Small branch piece or something that will make a pumpkin stem Hot glue gun To make this no sew pumpkin, you'll need to determine how much scrap fabric to use. Nellie’s Barn Sale 2015
Do you love treasure hunting as much as I do? I've shared that I do lots of thrift shop treasure hunting. But I always love going to vintage sales or flea markets. Yesterday my daughter and I took a drive to Roscoe Illinois to visit my friend Ann Campos at her amazing sale that she holds once a year. It's called Nellie's Barn Sale. This event has over 50 vendors. It's jam packed with beautiful, cool, and fun vintage treasures. So much to see as you are walking in, like these plants. I absolutely love this, but I passed on them, since as you know, I kill these. But, aren't they lovely! This metal piece is super cool! I love the vignettes in this booth, not sure what that piece is, but the patina is amazing! I went a little crazy in my friend Polly's booth. She has a ... View Post
Updating A Master Bedroom
Wow, sometimes looking back isn't a good thing. I mean, sometimes you look back at photos of yourself and you think, what was I thinking? Why did I wear that outfit, or what was up with my hairstyle. Well, you can say all that about decorating. And when you write a blog, you are putting your ideas, and thoughts out there for everyone to see. Good, or bad, it's what you like, and how you feel. I've been sharing some of the changes I've made in my home. I shared my living room you can see that HERE. And my kitchen HERE. And right now I am working on my family room. So let's take a look at a room that's had quite a few changes. Most of them have been small changes. But... I don't even know what to say. Well, here's my bedroom just four years ago. What in the world was I ... View Post
Whole30 A Month Later
About a month ago I started a program called Whole30. And let me tell you that I am in no way affiliated with this program. But I heard about it, so I decided to try it. Well okay, at first when I heard about it, I thought no way! But as I started seeing a pouch on my tummy, I decided I should give it a try. Because nothing I was doing was working! Going through menopause, well it sucks! I was cutting out foods, and exercising more, but still nothing was happening. I was eating mostly vegetarian, which meant that I was eating lots of carbs. Here is a before and after photo of me. Let me say that these are NOT flattering photos of myself, and I am being very brave in sharing so please be kind ;-) Oh yeah, the first photo was before I added a little red to my hair! I didn't ... Adding Fall Decorations To Your Home
Adding Fall Decorations To Your Home You don't have to break the bank adding fall decorations to your home. And you will see that most of my fall decorations are from the great outdoors, and not from a craft store. I have nothing against craft stores, but if you're on a tight budget it can be expensive. When it comes to decorating for the holidays I keep it pretty simple. I don 't like clutter everywhere. My fall decorations will be kept out until the end of November. So I don't like putting Halloween decor up. And in my home we're out of that phase now that my daughter is grown. Thank goodness, because I was tired of that look too! As you can see I am keeping it pretty simple. I love using real pumpkins and heirloom varieties are my favorite! Simple little vignettes around my ... View Post
How To Make A Non Seasonal Wreath
Today I wanted to share how easy it is to make a wreath, and it will cost you zero dollars. Are you with me on this? Can I get an Amen? As you may already know I am pretty cheap frugal, and I try to save money whenever I can. So going out and buying craft materials for projects is not something I do often at all. I wanted to show you two different wreath ideas. These were both made using what I already have. Let's talk about this one first. Don't you just love this. It has a soft romantic shabby look and I love it! First you need a wreath shape, for this one I used a picture frame. And it doesn't need to be round, it can be oval as this one is or square or even rectangle. I had already used this frame to make a wreath using dried roses, but it was getting faded and ...
