Dessert Coffee
I'm thrilled to be joining my blogging friends as a part of the "Fall In Love With Your Home Tour" I usually open my house, and share a tour, but I have to tell ya, my home is a bit of a mess right now. I know, you may be shocked, but believe me it is. I'm finishing up my book, to be released soon, and well I have a few projects going on. So anyway, I wanted to join in with these talented ladies, so I decided to share a coffee dessert recipe. But the thing is that recently I gave up sugar. But it's all good, it's really not as bad as it sounds. You can read about that HERE. So let's talk about fall...... Okay. if you know me, then you know that I am a summer girl, not so much a fall or winter person..at all. I just can't take the cold weather. I usually drink lots of warm ... View Post
Practice Makes Perfect A Faux Marble Table
This isn't going to be a reveal post, but I wanted to share one of the projects I will be working on soon. I have many projects that I need to start working on , but I am nearing the end of writing my book. I will tell you that writing a book is so much harder than I thought it would be. Anyway, I decided to experiment with one of my ideas on a smaller scale. If you are trying a new technique, but you are afraid to go for it, I always advise to practice on something first. I love the look of marble, and have been wanted to experiment using a faux technique. I found this table several months ago. Not knowing what I was going to do with it when I found it. And let me tell you , this table has been painted several times already. I started a few projects on it, and I hated the ... View Post
Whole30 And Other Ramblings
Last week I mentioned that I started a program called Whole30, and I also shared my addiction to sugar. You can read about that HERE. After writing that post I had my first weigh in. When you're on this program, your not supposed to weigh yourself until the end. But, because I have struggled to get these pounds off that I gained, I wanted to see where I was at. I just needed that confirmation that indeed this was working. When I got on the scale I was 4 lbs lighter! Well, that was a nice surprise, and I wasn't really expecting it. I cheated again today, and jumped on the scale this morning. And I am now in a total of 6 lbs lighter since starting this journey. Today marks 14 days of my sugar free life, and I don't miss it one bit. I am being completely honest when I tell you ... View Post
Simple Transfer Method 1 Gel Decoupage
Simple Transfer Method 1 Gel Decoupage I found a little stool at the thrift shop of course. I have no idea what it was used for originally because it's so small. But I knew I would figure out a way to give it new life again. Then it hit me! I decided to use my simple transfer method using my 1 gel decoupage glue. This stuff is amazing! Not only can you use it to decoupage but you can also use it for simple transfer projects. Easy Step By Step Tutorial How To Edit In Lightroom
I am working on several projects at once, I'll have lots to share soon as far as DIY and decorating, but in the mean time, in between some of my projects, I will be sharing posts on other subjects. Because I am one person doing it all, I can't do or share everything at once. Today, I wanted to talk about how I edit my photos. If you write a blog and share photos or even if you don't, it is important to know how to edit photos. I know it can be intimidating, but I am here to tell you that using Lightroom is not scary at all. I do use PicMonkey, but I only use it for graphics. I no longer edit my photos with PicMonkey. My photos have come a long way since I started my blog. I started out with a point and shoot camera, and then upgraded to a Sony DSLR camera. Once I upgraded my ... View Post
