I am sure you know that my favorite style is Shabby Chic, but did you know that I also love French style? I wouldn't say my home is exactly Rachel Ashwell, although I am inspired by Rachel's style. But, did you know that I also love French accents in my home. Once of my favorite pieces is this French bottle rack. It's not the real deal, but a replica of a French bottle rack. Yes it's mixed in with my Shabby Chic style, but shows that I have a little French flare. Yes you can mix French style in with Shabby Chic. I love this table that I created a few years ago. My inspiration came from the French feedsacks. I didn't keep this piece, it was sold at a sale. I am kicking myself now, as I should have kept it. I guess I should try to re-create one. Oh, and I love French ... View Post
Easy Deer Silhouette Art
As I was browsing through the craft store to gather supplies for upcoming fall projects I stumbled upon this cool burlap canvas. I'm not really into burlap as I once was, but this canvas fascinated me. I added it to my cart and kept on shopping for my supplies. I had no idea what I was going to do with this, but I knew that I could think of something. As I worked my way around the store, I walked past all the fall supplies then I walked into the scrapbook isle. Okay, I've never been into scrapbooking, but I do love the paper used for scrapbooking. I think it's a wonderful art, but I have no time for that. Printing out the pictures and then mastering the creativity for a scrapbook. Ain't no body got time for that. Well, I don't that's for sure. But..... look at the papers I ... View Post
DIY TV Cabinet Turned Wine Cabinet
When I am out treasure hunting, I am always looking out for unique pieces to paint. I'm not looking for anything new for my home, but I am slowly picking up pieces for my sale next spring. I found this cabinet, I think it was used as a t.v. cabinet. What I love about this cabinet is all the details on it. I knew that with a coat of paint I could transform this piece, and give it new life. Although tv set's have changed since this cabinet was made. I am thinking this one was from the early 2000. I pulled out my Heirloom Traditions paint in Nickle. Nickle is a silver, blue. It's one of those colors that when you look at it, the color looks white, silver or blue depending on the light. It was painted with two coats of paint, then used my distressing with vinegar method. You can ... View Post

DIY Decoupage Fabric Bench
Your going to either think that this project is cool or that I have lost my mind. Either way I am sharing it ;-) I know that this project will unleash your creativity and will inspire you! I found this little bench a week ago, and I knew it would be perfect for our den. You can see the transformation HERE and HERE. Originally I was going to paint it, but the fabric was really icky. I mean gross, icky, pet hair...YUCK! So, I was thinking I would just recover it, but as I reached for the fabric, tissue paper from my stash of stuff in my studio caught my eye. Then I had a....what if I ....moment. I knew that this could turn out really cool or really bad. But hey, you never know until you try right? Oh yeah, this project was one of my Lucy harebrained ideas. Sometimes I think my ... View Post
Man Cave Brick Wall Advertising Reveal
Man Cave Before we talk about this Man cave reveal or I should call it a Man hut let me share what I did to this room before I added the advertisement wall. I added a faux brick stencil, you can read about that HERE. This room is primarily used by my husband and sadly for him, it's the only room in the house that's his. Yeah, I'm a lucky girl. So when it came time to finally doing something in this room, I couldn't make it all shabby chic and girly. I mean come on, he needs at least one room in the house that's manly right? (This is a sponsored post, and contains affiliate links) This is what the room looked like when we started. Well sort of, it didn't have disheveled furniture tossed about. It was neat and clean and really boring. It doesn't look like much of a Man cave, it's ... View Post
