Were going to drift slightly away from decorating today. Well more than slightly! Let's talk about menopause. If you are not going through this you may want to listen anyway. You are in store for a good time! I am hoping that if you are reading this, it may make you laugh and realize that you are not going through it alone. Let's go back before I started "The Change". I have always been a fit person. But during my High School years I had very poor eating habits. I think my lunch was a hostess cherry pie, and I am not sure if I even had breakfast. I wasn't fat, but I wasn't fit. I know, I ate so healthy then! Well a cherry pie does have fruit in it ;-) Still, I exercised and I knew that if I stopped eating the junk food I would lose weight. It always came off ... View Post
Accent Wall Created Using A Stencil
Accent Wall Since we are planning to put our house on the market in a few years, I don't want to do any major projects just yet. The carpets need to be replaced and our walls need a fresh coat of paint. But my bedroom needed a fresh look, like now. Well, actually it's needed it for awhile. I was tired of a few things, including the space above our headboard. I don't like an empty space above our bed, but I didn't want something hanging on the wall again. So I thought it would be fun to add an accent wall using a Cutting Edge stencil. Here is what it looked like before I started. Well sort of, this photo was taken last summer. (This is a sponsored post, and contains affiliate links. Please read disclosure policy) I took the curtain down, and those faux metal pieces off of the wall. ... View Post
I Have Been Busy And Other Ramblings
I have been really busy the last couple of weeks. But I have done zip around my house! Well I have cleaned my house, but nothing as far as projects until yesterday. Here's why I have been busy and other ramblings! I decided to take a week off of blogging, then the following week my husband took a week off of work that I sort of forgot about. We had no trips planned, but we did have a day in Chicago planned. Back in December my husband purchased tickets to see U2 at the United Center. And as luck would have it, he won tickets for a night stay at a hotel downtown. We got very lucky with the weather, as most of this summer has been rainy and cold! I don't have photos to share of our weekend, unless you follow me on Instagram, then you can see some of the photos there. It was a ... View Post

Shopping For Bags
Okay so I have to admit something. Some women love shopping for shoes, I love shopping for bags. I really do! Well, not just shopping for bags, but collecting them! Yes, I have my favorite bags, like this one that I recently found. Some bags are great for a day out shopping. You know the bags I am talking about. Big enough for your bottled water, phone, wallet, snacks. And then there are bags that are perfect for a day at the beach. Something big enough for a towel, sunscreen, a good book, snacks and water. Then there are bags that a great for traveling. I always bring a bag along when we take a road trip or a plane ride. For a plane trip, I like to take something small. It needs to fit under the seat, but I like organization. Like this bag, I love the little ... View Post
How To Distress Furniture Using Vinegar Revisited
It's been several months since I shared my favorite way to distress furniture. And since I get so many questions about this technique, today I thought I would answer some of the most asked questions about how to distress furniture using vinegar-revisited. I discovered this technique of distressing furniture using vinegar just by accident, and it's now the only technique that I use for distressing. Here are some of the most asked questions I get, along with the answers. 1). Why do you use this technique of vinegar and water to distress furniture? I use this technique because for me I have found that it makes distressing my pieces much easier. It also helps eliminate dust. Which for me is very important. Often times vintage pieces of furniture will have lead in the varnish or ... View Post
