So thrilled to be a part of the seashell tour, and share this easy diy seashell art. This time of the year for the most part, no matter where you live you are thinking about the beach and seashells. When I was asked to be a part of this tour I had so many ideas running through my head. Since I am making some changes in my screened in porch I thought I needed to add a little art in there. So I pulled out an old screen that I had not been using. I love the chippy patina on this old screen, but I wasn't crazy about the color. As you may or may not remember, I am adding color to my porch. So I pulled out my paint and painted this Chippy Blue from my signature paint line. I just added one coat. Next, I pulled together seashells that I purchased through Micheal's crafts. I believe ... View Post

My Happy Place Is Disney World
This post will either bore you to death or you will enjoy it. Today I am not sharing any DIY or decorating tips. But, I am sharing a personal story, something I am very passionate about. Disney I guess it depends on whether you are a Disney Freak like I am. If you are then you will most likely continue reading. If you're not, then you will probably not want to continue reading. One of our favorite places to vacation, and my happy place is Disney World. Why is Disney World so special to us and why am I such a Disney freak? Well I have always been a Disney fan, ever since I was a child. We lived in Orange County California, which is very close to Disneyland. I was lucky to have visited Disneyland quite often in the four years we lived in California. But, I have to be honest, I ... View Post
Distressing Furniture Techniques
I never know what I will create when I am working on a piece. Sometimes a piece is easy to work with because of the details, and sometimes I need to get creative and add character. As I am working on a piece I don't use conventional methods to distress furniture. Sometimes besides using vinegar to distress furniture, I also use other methods. Distressing furniture techniques can be as simple as using scissors and glue. I know it sounds like a school project. There is nothing more exciting than seeing your name on a can of paint. This is Vintage Green, I LOVE this color! I painted this piece with Vintage Green, it was pretty boring without any details on the piece. I really wasn't sure what I was going to do. And it's often that way, sometimes as I am creating a piece I start ... View Post
More Features And I’m Writing A Book
Yes, you heard that right, more features and I'm writing a book. Talk about getting to the point of a blog post early. This has been the year of magazine features, and I truly, truly honored and blessed. Probably five months or so ago Casa da sogno contacted me about doing a feature. This lovely publication is from Italy and is very similar to our Romantic Homes magazine. The exciting part for me is that I photographed the photos for this publication. This was the March issue, it took awhile to get it delivered here. Since it's no longer available to purchase I am sharing the photos here. I don't know if I shared this or not, but I am Italian, Hungarian and Irish. So it was really exciting to get published in an Italian magazine, even though do not speak it. I really wish I ... Decorating My Screened In Porch
If you have been following along you know that I have been making changes on my screened in porch. One of the changes was painting and adding a stencil on my floor, you can read about that HERE. Now it's time to start decorating my screened in porch. I mentioned that I wanted to add a little color in my screened in porch, and some pieces were going to come back and others would not. Here is a shot of my furniture before. This photo was taken last summer before I painted the floors. I painted the chair cushions, the color of our house, boring! I don't know why I thought that would be a good idea when I did it the first time. I guess I was not thinking very far ahead since I wasn't sure what I was going to do to the floor. So, here is my table in our room now. Now you can see ... View Post
