DIY FloraCraft Shabby Topiary
I have been challenging myself to do more craft projects. It's not that I don't like doing crafts, I do, but I don't always have ideas for them. Until I came across an old shabby lamp, and then I had a light bulb moment. A shabby chic topiary! Let me show you this easy DIY FloraCraft shabby chic topiary craft. And when I say easy, I mean easy. Yes this is super easy to make, and no glue was required to make mine. Here are the supplies needed: -A vintage lamp base, the shabbier the better. -Scrap cotton fabric, look for fabric scraps at a thrift shop with several colors or a floral pattern. How To Add Detail To Furniture
The pressure is on to get things ready for my upcoming sale. And time is ticking too. I've had this old dresser for many years. I fell for the curves on this sweet piece. But it was lacking details. Here is how to add detail to furniture using gold wax. Let me warn you these photos were shot in my garage. Since I am hosting a sale in a few weeks, I didn't want to haul this in my house, only to haul it back out into the garage. Here is the before shot, yeah I know it's pretty dark and grainy. This piece was painted a flat white several years ago. I painted this dresser two coats of French Butter from my signature paint line. After the paint was dry, and by the way this paint dries very fast. Yes, I finished this project in a few hours. So after the paint was dry I took out ... View Post

Painted Deck Floors
I wasn't planning on writing a blog post today, well I was and then I got caught up in a project. I am sore all over, and I feel a migraine coming on. The project I've been working on is my screened porch deck floor. I have been looking at painted deck floors on pinterest for months trying to decide what to do. This was one of those all day projects. Despite all of that, it looks amazing! I'm not ready to share just yet. This photo was taken last spring. We were able to start enjoying our porch last spring. I didn't do much as far as decorating last year, because I was not able to paint or stain the floors until the wood had dried out. So I did the best I could with what I had. I found a rug, and painted it for the time being. Last fall my husband and I painted the deck ... View Post
Painting Glass Bottles
Recently, when I shared my new signature line of paints, I also shared my new colors on old bottles. I have seen so many beautifully painted mason jars. Just go on pinterest and see all of the fun ideas for mason jars. But you don't have to use a mason jar, you can use any jar or vase. I see many interesting bottles and vases while I am out thrift shopping. And I bet you have some jars and vases in your home too, that can use a little update. Painting glass bottles with chalk type paint is really very simple. After making sure my bottle was clean I just painted my bottles, that's it. I know, not much to say about this. I bet some of you thought it was a little more complicated than that, but it's not at all. Don't worry about brush marks, I personally love the texture you get ... View Post
