Today I am sharing my holiday master bedroom as part of the home for the holidays tour. Since I am a part of so many tours this year I have been sharing a room with each tour. For the past few years I have wanted a white tree in our bedroom. I found the perfect tree at Walmart! My vintage shabby ornaments look perfect on this white tree, and the lights are so pretty. They have a soft pastel color. Do you wrap your presents in a special spot of your home? I wrap gifts in our bedroom,I don't know why but I always have. I guess it's the only spot in our house where I can close the door and really have privacy. And you need privacy when wrapping gifts for your family :-) I kept my old garden gate on this wall,it makes the perfect backdrop for my tree. I made my tree skirt this ... View Post
What’s New In The Shop
I know I was listing what's new in the shop on Thursdays but I am a little off schedule because of the holiday. I will get back on schedule after Christmas. The shop will be closing on December 19th until after the 1st of the new year, so if you see something you like grab it now. First up is this lovely set of dishes,I have had these for many years and swore I would never part with them. But they have been sitting tucked away in a cabinet not really being enjoyed. This lovely set screams Shabby Chic with the perfect shade of pink and that gorgeous rose. One of the things I fell for with this set was the cups. I have never seen a shape like that, and the handle too! I am selling this all as a set because I am sure who ever purchases this set will want the whole set. I ... View Post
Jennifer Rizzo’s House Walk
Ever since I started blogging and sharing my home via holiday tour I have linked up to Jennifer Rizzo's house walk. I am a part of many home tours this year so many of you have probably seen my home. But I also know that many of you may not have and I am sharing another room today. This year I decided to many of my ornaments starting with this tree. Stars were traced using a cookie cutter on a sheet of silver poster board, and sprinkled with German glass glitter. I also made the paper tree garland, and no sew tree skirt. You will notice on my holiday home decor is pretty simple. My tree's are the main attraction, then I add fresh wreaths and greens into the mix too! I don't like rearranging and putting my favorite pieces away, instead I add key pieces to my decor. This vintage ... View Post
Mantel Party
I am thrilled to be a part of the holiday mantle tour. Our fireplace mantel in the family room is our main focus. It is off to the side but it still makes quite a statement when you walk into the room. I love the smell of fresh greens in my home this time of the year. We do have artificial trees, but I splurge a little of fresh greens. This year I collaborated with Lynch Creek Farms and was given this amazing garland. My mantel is quite small so I can't go crazy with too many pieces on it. But it's okay because I really do like to keep things pretty simple. And I don't like changing everything in my home either just for the holiday season. I just changed my mantle a few months ago and still love the mirror and gate. So instead of taking everything down I decided to keep those ... View Post
Easy To Make Gift Ideas
Today I wanted to show you a few easy to make gift ideas. If you are like me you are probably on a budget, and this time of the year it can be tricky when you are buying gifts for friends and family. Sometimes it can get pretty stressful! The next time your out treasure hunting keep your eyes open for pretty dishes and candle sticks. Try to think outside of the box when you are looking, and think about how pieces can be used in more than one way. Using a candle stick along with a small bread plate and salad plate I created this. (To glue simply find a waterproof glue that adheres to glass, and glue together. Since I am just sharing different ideas I did not glue mine.) This can be used as a dessert dish,or as a jewelry stand,or you could even place a chunky candle on the top and add ... View Post
Home For The Holidays Tour
I am thrilled to be a part of the Home for the holidays tour! For the past three years I have enjoyed a tree in our Kitchen. I am blessed to have the room in our kitchen for a decent size tree. A few years ago I used a trunk as a tree skirt, last year I used a galvanized bucket for a tree skirt. This year I decided to use two drawers from my old dresser that is not being used. I just added a little shawl to cover up the stand. This is my Shabby Chic tree, using torn pieces from a Rachel Ashwell sheet I tied together for the garland. And I also took some of those torn pieces and tied them on the branches. Ornaments were made using vintage wall paper and cut out in Angel wing shapes. Then sprinkled with German glass glitter. I love how simple this is and yet so elegant. On my ... View Post
