No Sew Tree Skirt Tutorial In case you didn't know, well I don't sew. That's not totally true. I could sew if I had a sewing machine. The last time I used a sewing machine was 1980 something when I was in high school. I can get pretty pretty creative without using a sewing machine. This new sew tree skirt is super easy and thrifty to make. Supplies needed: Painters canvas Decorative trim Glue gun Scissors You will need to know the width of your tree before starting. I know not everyone has a faux tree like I do. Take a tape measure and measure from the trunk of your tree to the outer part of your tree. You can also cheat if a friend has a tree skirt or if you have an old one that you are replacing because that can be your template. If you have an existing tree skirt you ... View Post
Make Money Blogging Creative Outlet
When I started blogging a few years ago I had no idea that you could actually make money blogging. I started my blog because I needed an outlet for my creative energy, and I was hoping to open an online shop. My thought was if I could share my home and decorating style I would have an audience that would also be interested in what I had to sell. But I honestly had no idea that you could indeed make money blogging. Once I heard that you could make money blogging I wanted to know how to do that. As I started searching I found that advertising was how most people made money blogging. But I have to be honest I was not thrilled with the idea of putting ads on my sidebar. I really didn't like the way it looked. So in my early days of blogging after a brief time of advertising I took ... View Post
Decorating with Shabby Chic Style Furniture
What a surprise, another chippy pink table is now gracing my home. Well you know how much I love decorating with shabby chic style furniture, especially those special pieces that have that wonderful original chippy patina. A friend of mine who is an antiques dealer, gave me the heads up on this lovely piece she had in her garage. I have bought many pieces from her, here are a few. This beyond gorgeous chandelier. This perfectly shabby green ice cream bucket. This yummy chippy pink window. This lovely French bistro set, from last summer. And this chippy pink table, door and that sconce that is on the door. Yes there are more pieces that I bought from her, but you get the idea. I love what she sells because it's totally me! She sent me a photo ... View Post

German Glass Ornaments
This past summer I purchased a few containers of Miss Mustard Seed's German glass glitter from Decor Steals, and I decided to use German glass to make my star ornaments for my tree. Last year my tree had lots of red and berries, but I wanted to try something different. I am not finished with my tree just yet but here is a sneak peek. These star ornaments add lots of sparkle to my tree. I was very ambitious this year, because I made about 80 of these ornaments...yes I did. I envisioned a tree full of stars :-) If you would like to make these, just make a few and add other ornaments. Unless you feel like being as ambitious as I am. As I said I am not done with this tree yet,I will be adding other ornaments that I am not making too. So let me share how I made these. First I went ... View Post
