Recently I shared my newest sponsor One Love Candle And Bath. Stephanie is the owner of this lovely shop. I had the pleasure of meeting Stephanie at my friends studio tour. ***This Giveaway has ended...winners announced*** My friend Jeannie from the Crown Jewels of Art hosted a tour of her studio, and she had one of Stephanie's candles burning. Well,if you know me you know that I love scented candles. I mean real scented candles, you know the ones that when someone walks into your home and says...hmmmm something smells amazing what is that? And you say....it's my wonderful scented candle....yeah that! As soon as I got home I looked up Stephanie's site and ordered a candle. It was hard to choose because there are so many wonderful scents. I also noticed that she sold lotions ... View Post
A Vintage Pink Tree
I have been searching and searching for a vintage pink tree for a year. You know what I am talking about, the vintage ceramic tree's that light up. Last year I looked and looked and could never find one in my price range. And I was never lucky enough to come across one while treasure hunting. This year I started early looking for a tree, and I came across this one. Okay I know it's not a pink tree. That's exactly what I thought when I saw this too. This was also covered with multicolored light inserts but I took them off. After spotting this the first time I walked away, because it was blue. What was I thinking?! So I went back to where I found it and looked to see if this was still there, and yes it was. Why...because a little paint would do the trick! Never underestimate the ... View Post
A Winner And Star Ornaments
First I wanted to announce the winner of the Jennifer Rizzo Creatively Christmas book. Drum roll please......... Theresa from The playing house! Congratulations Theresa you are going to LOVE Jennifer's new book. I sent an email to you so please check your email. Last week the day before Halloween I started pulling out my Christmas decor. I normally don't decorate this early, but since blogging I found that if I don't get a head start on things they just don't get done. Or I rush to get things done. This year I wanted to be ahead of the game. I already have one tree up and decorated! The other tree....I just started. It's up with lights and now I am making ornaments for it. This tree is going to be my star tree. I am not going to share the tutorial today on how I made ... View Post
How To Arrange Furniture
Trying to figure out how to arrange furniture in a room can be quite a challenge. I found that out 8 years ago when we moved into our home. Here are some simple tips. 1). Make sure you have a good flow and nothing is obstructing that flow. Yes I know, sorry you are seeing our entertainment center in another blog post. But I am showing you this because you really need to see this whole room and why I arranged the furniture the way that I did. As you can see my two biggest obstacles are my huge entertainment center and our fireplace. We also have four windows and we also have two entrances. One from our kitchen and the other off to the side of our entertainment center. Because I have this entry here. And the other here. Adding furniture here is not an option. This is a ... View Post
What’s New In The Shop
Sharing what's new in the shop this week! I found this lovely plate recently while treasure hunting. It reminds me of one, I believe it was in Rachel Ashwell's book? I love the soft faded roses and scalloped edges. Perfect for yourself for or for someone special as a gift. I have lots of linens to share with you this week. First is this lovely set of lace trimmed napkins. Some of you know that I use cloth napkins everyday. I feel that you should use your pretty things everyday not just special occasions. These are perfect for everyday or for entertaining. I am so excited to share these next new treasures! I love, love, love finding vintage sheets. Why? Because you can do so much with these and they just don't make them this pretty anymore. Vintage sheets are great to use ... View Post
Update Kitchen Cabinets On A Budget
Update Kitchen Cabinets On A Budget If you're looking for a way to update kitchen cabinets and add a little detail I have the solution for you. After painting my kitchen cabinets I felt like my plain cabinets needed a fresh update. I discovered these silicone appliques while doing an online search. These are so easy to use and much cheaper than replacing cabinets. Using appliques to update kitchen cabinets is a great way to add details but don't go over board. I just added these to my upper cabinets. Adding these to every cabinet would have looked tacky in my opinion. Let's get started. (This post contains affiliate links please see disclosure policy) Supplies needed: Efex appliques (but you can use wood appliques as well. These are much easier to work with) DAP® Weldwood ...
