I am sure you have noticed by now that my favorite flowers are roses and they are my favorite choice when styling with flowers, especially pink roses. And since I am a vintage gal I don't use typical vases for styling my flowers. Yes I do love ironstone but there are so many other options to choose from when you are styling flowers. I shared this ice cream bucket awhile back and it is actually one of my favorite pieces to use for my flowers. I just add several small bottles inside the ice cream bucket then add my roses,if I don't want the hand crank on the bucket I just remove it and add a tall vase inside then add the flowers. A great choice for this (if using without my hand crank) is a tall vintage mason blue ball jar. It seems to be tall enough for my bucket and if you see it ... View Post
New Items In The Shop
Adding some new items in the shop, giving it a little refresh. Soon I will be taking a little break from my shop, summer time is a busy time for us. Lots of time spent with my daughter and family too. I will still be treasure hunting but I will put things aside. Don't worry you can still access my shop for the next couple of weeks. Excited to add this sweet vintage pink scale to the shop. And this is an interesting find......It's called a Pharmacy show globe or Apothecary jar. These were usually displayed in pharmacy's containing a colorful liquid. Not sure how old this is but I remember seeing these in pharmacy's as a child. I think it's makes an interesting display piece on it's own or filled with lavender seeds, small pebbles or shells. Also adding this wood board set to ... View Post

The secret to being married for 25 years is marrying your best friend. I don't normally get very personal on my blog,I try to keep it about decorating and vintage style. But if you are lucky celebrating a 25th wedding anniversary only happens once. Boombox
Do you remember boomboxes?Well it's 2014 and we still have boombox from the 1990's....yes we still listen to music CD's.But I don't feel so ancient when I know many still enjoy listening to records ...most kids have no idea still of what a record is. We had our boombox in our basement to use while we work out, but my husband and I have been using our phones and listening to pandora so we really don't need our boombox in the basement. Okay how did this topic start? Yesterday while I was setting up for my daughters graduation party I thought it would be nice to have a little music outside,so I brought our big boombox out of our basement and added it to our porch. And when I say big I mean BIG boombox! It's sort of ugly but you can put up to six CD's in it which is great for ... View Post
